Sienna Miller Poses for Piaget

Jewelry hounds, let's forget about our dreary lives for a moment shall we and enter the delightful dream scape that is actress Sienna Miller's day-to-day.

She's a glamorous movie star (with the bank account to match). She's dating the hunky Jude Law. Again. She's got that 'skinny without trying' thing going for her. And now? She has her pick of Piaget Possession jewelry as their new spokesmodel.

You can go ahead now and:

a) roll your eyes
b) do your best 'vomit in your mouth' impression
c) spontaneously start those double chin exercises
d) all of the above

To commemorate 20 years of their popular Possession Collection, Piaget picked the scrumptious Sienna to star in a series of iconic photographs wearing the classic jewels. Leaving no stone unturned, they assembled an A-list team of fashion industry professionals for a major photo shoot at Hudson Studios in New York, including legendary photographer, Raymond Meier, and renowned stylist and regular Vogue contributor, Elissa Santisi.

The first photo in the series is displayed above with two more to follow in the coming months, according to a press release, so stay tuned.

Click here to be the first to view the Youtube video capturing Sienna in action and more importantly - you can gawk at the Piaget Possession jewels featuring interlocking ring silhouettes in both yellow gold and diva-worthy diamonds.

Or just put on your bathrobe, open up a pint of New York Super Fudge Chunk and call it good.

Mariah Carey's Ring Pop Bling

As yet another celebrity couple pretends to profess their undying love for one another in a vow renewal ceremony, there's really one explanation for the trend: it's an excuse to buy more diamonds.

From Heidi Klum & Seal to Tori & Dean, vow renewal ceremonies are all the rage in Hollywood - but it was Nick Cannon & Mariah Carey's re-walk down the aisle last month that brought out bling worthy of a lower jaw drop moment.

We all remember the 17-carat pink diamond engagement ring Nick gave to the diva - now she has a sparkling pink candy ring to match. The custom-made ring pop bling from Jason of Beverly Hills is made out of diamonds and pink sapphires in a white gold setting and comes in a special box with a spinner so Miss Mariah can see it sparkle under the lights. Wheeeee!!!

"This is for fun. This is what we do for toys. At some point you've gotta have a sense of humor about all of this. A sense of humor with diamonds," Nick explained.

I'm laughing on the inside, Nick.

What do you guys think of this 'vow renewal' trend? And how about that 'candy' ring??

Emerald: May’s Symbol of Spring

If April birthday girls have it best with the diamond as their designated birthstone, May certainly comes in a close second.

The emerald is May’s birthstone, and if you’ve been following the red carpet the past few years, you’ll notice stars like Angelina Jolie and Julianne Moore are making us all green with envy as they bring the bauble back into the spotlight.

Emerald is a green variety of the mineral, beryl, and has been prized for thousands of years for its lush green hues and rare beauty. Throughout the ancient world, emerald symbolized eternal hope, rebirth and the arrival of spring - and some cultures believed the gem rewarded its owners with love, intelligence and eloquence.

The ancients ascribed numerous magical and mystical properties to this precious green gem. In ancient Rome, for example, emeralds were believed to have a soothing effect on the soul. Modern scientists have since shown this myth to have some basis in fact: tests indicate that the human eye is more sensitive to green than any other color.

Middle Age seers used emeralds to foretell the future, as well as to ward off evil spirits and cure ailments ranging from bad eyesight to infertility. The stone was also said to improve memory and bring great wealth to its wearer.

Derived from the Latin word for green, "smaragdus", emerald is also the traditional gift of choice for couples celebrating their 20th and 35th wedding anniversaries.

The finest emeralds have traditionally come from Colombia; both the Incas and Aztecs mined rich emerald deposits in the rugged Andes Mountains. But Russia's Ural Mountains also have produced top-quality gems. Brazil is by far the world's largest producer of emerald, with a wide range of sizes and quality.

Emerald's precious green color is caused by small amounts of chromium and enhanced by traces of iron. Emeralds come in a variety of light and dark shades - often with subtle background hues of other colors like yellow, blue, brown or gray. Generally, the purer and richer the green, the more valuable the emerald.

The gem ranks 7.5-8 on the Mohs hardness scale. This means that emerald, while relatively hard, can still be scratched, chipped or split fairly easily. Most emeralds have numerous flaws, or "inclusions", which weaken their structure. Flawless emeralds are exceptionally rare, and therefore command great prices (in some instances, higher than diamonds).

Take that April!

Pamela Anderson's Golden Globes

Gold statues don't often come in the guise of a bikini-clad pop icon, but artist Marc Quinn begs to differ.

The popular sculptor created twin life-size Pamela Anderson statues out of polished bronze for his controversial new exhibit that showcases people 'who have transformed their outward appearance to match how they are feeling inside', according to the UK's Coventry Telegraph.

The Baywatch beauty and recent Dancing with the Stars cast-off told The Guardian that she loves Quinn and his work,

"I didn't even ask what he wanted to do with me. I would have done anything." (insert inappropriate snickering here...)

Of his inspiration, Quinn said, "What Pamela has done is use surgery and transformation within the mainstream cultural context, whereas everyone else in the show has struck out on their own."

Two large Michael Jackson heads are also on display - one white, one black - as are statues of porn stars and the 'woman turned man who gave birth to a baby' dude.

Quinn is also known for his 2008 solid gold statue of Kate Moss in a contorted yoga pose called 'Sphinx' worth $2.6 million (click here for more on that little ditty).

What do you think the Pamela statue will go for, and who do you think would buy it? (Tommy Lee? Kid Rock? Siegfried? Roy?) Weigh in!

Jewelry Gifts for your Graduate

Ah graduation - that warm and fuzzy time when high schoolers break curfew for late-night keggers, and college grads realize their Liberal Arts degree gave them lots of debt and no job experience.

Seriously, though, this rite of passage is an event that warrants an important gift to commemorate the occasion. So whether you’ve got an uber-achievor or a ‘scraped by with Cs’-type on your hands, it’s time they got a little bling to remind them that they no longer have to suffer through Chem class or BS their way through another essay question.

Here are my top graduation jewelry gift ideas for the educated woman in your life (insert: me throwing my imaginary graduation cap Mary Tyler Moore-style.)

1. Diamond Studs:

They’re like a good bra. Every woman needs them, and mom is usually the one who will shell out the bucks for 'em.

2. Right Hand Rings

The ultimate expression of independence. She’ll have plenty of time to get a diamond on her left hand (stop hyperventilating). Celebrate her unique self with this empowering gift of diamonds.

3. Birthstone Bling

Jewelry that celebrates the day she was born and the woman she is sure to become. Awwww…

4. Personal Pendant

Is she leaving her favorite pet behind? Maybe she'd like a dog or cat pendant to keep them close to her heart? Or maybe she loves butterflies, frogs, pigs – whatever her passion let her know you know what makes her heart sing.

And I know what makes your heart sing. Wholesale prices. A reminder that you have access to my favorite Friends and Family site, Jewel Club, for your graduation shopping spree.

Use the code: INSIDER and gawk at the prices you won’t get anywhere else.

'Dancing With The Stars' Jewelry

Who was the lucky recipient of a floating diamond necklace from Jason of Beverly Hills, a Louboutin Spike Purse, a pair of Gucci Anaconda, Louboutin BoBo and Let Me Tell You Something shoes? All of this loot went to one lucky Cheryl Burke on her birthday - all gifts from her Dancing With The Stars partner, Chad OchoCinco!

This on TOP of the $10,000 diamond ring he gave her a few weeks ago.

I guess this Twitpic Chad took of the lucky lady says is all.

All this dancing diamond hoop-la got me wondering about the other contestants on the show, who are often seen in bling worthy of their own body guards. But I was pleased to discover that much of the jewelry they wear on the dance floor is both affordable AND available for fans to purchase.

Designer, Anne Koplik, is the exclusive source of jewelry for DWTS contestants and has a gallery full of styles you can bring home to your own jewelry box.

These red crystal-embellished earrings for $38 are like those worn by Cheryl Burke this season, according to the Anne Koplik website:

Or these spider-web styles for only $60 are just like the earrings worn by Shawn Johsnon as she was crowned the winner of season 8.

There are over 60 styles to choose from - all reasonable ways to bring a little DWTS bling to your life.

Unless you can get Chad's number. And give it to me.

Katy Perry Glows at The Met Gala

My head is still spinning from the amazing jewelry and frock display at last night's Costume Institute Gala at The Met. If Oscar Night is The Super Bowl of fashion gawking let's call this one The World Cup.

A-listers from Oprah and SJP to Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway lit up the carpet. But it was one Katy Perry who took that sentiment quite literally.

It wasn't Katy's jaw-dropping Lorraine Schwartz statement necklace that had tongues wagging - it was her CuteCircuit LED-laced dress that flashed flourescent streaks of yellow, pink, green and blue lights depending on her mood (the control switch was safely ensconced in her cleavage for good keeping).

Katy told one reporter,

"I feel like I really have to represent those girls that just go for it and do their own thing and, you know, have their own bit of spontaneity and self confidence. I think sometimes in fashion it can get a little stuffy so I wanted to lighten up!"

CuteCircuit are no strangers to hi-tech fashion. In 2006 their Hug Shirt was named one of the Best Inventions of the Year by Time Magazine. Katy's dress is a more wearable version of the design duo Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz's stunning Galaxy dress - a hi-tech gown embroidered with 24,000 tiny LED bulbs now on display in an American museum.

What do you guys think of Katy's look? Totally hip? Or trying too hard?
